Behavior Rules of Foreign Teachers of Henan Agricultural University
According to such laws and regulations and school regulations as the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit of Foreigners, the Implementation Rules of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit of Foreigners and the Interim Regulations of the CPC Henan Agricultural University Committee on Foreign Affairs Management, etc., the conduct code is formulated so as to enhance the management of foreign teachers, standardize their behavior, and build a harmonious campus.
1. The Conduct Code
Article 1 Foreign teachers should abide by Chinese laws and regulations and shouldn' t interfere in China's internal affairs and the internal management of schools.
Article 2 Foreign teachers should respect the customs and ethics of China.
Article 3 Foreign teachers should abide by the discipline of the classroom consciously. When teaching, they should pay attention to the wearing, keeping neat and wearing neither slippers nor vests, smoking or snacks forbidden in the class.
Article 4 Foreign teachers should abide by the professional ethics of teachers and should not fall in love or have intimate relationships with students.
Article 5 Foreign teachers should accept the work management, the professional guidance, the inspection and evaluation conducted in the school.
Article 6 Foreign teachers mustn' t do the business unrelated to their teaching concurrently without the permission of the school.
Article 7 For students who are disciplined or disrespectful of foreign teachers, foreign teachers should report to the relevant person in charge of the International Cooperation Office of the school and recommend measures. And they should neither do the corporal punishment and insult on the students directly nor take the class-stopping as a punishment.
Article 8 Foreign teachers should neither charge students any fees in any form nor force students to purchase materials that are not required by the school.
2. The Teaching Code
Article 9 Foreign teachers should accept the teaching tasks and curriculum arrangements assigned by the school; the foreign teachers mustn' t refuse them unless the teaching tasks assigned by the school exceed the scope of the foreign teachers' ability. And they should complete the task on schedule to ensure the quantity and quality of the teaching work.
Article 10 For the leave, class adjustment and class substituteForeign teachers should conform to the following approval procedures:
(1) Fill in the application form as required;
(2) Apply to the teaching supervisor and obtain the approval two days in advance;
(3) The application for the class substitute and leave must be approved by the person in charge of the International Cooperation Office; for the class adjustment, a copy of the application form should be sent to the International Cooperation Office for the record;
(4) If a foreign teacher cannot submit a written application in advance because of an unexpected situation, he or she should apply and obtain an oral application to the college office and the International Cooperation Office of the teaching timely, fill in the written application form within one week and obtain approval and record in accordance with the above procedures. The following conditions will not be approved:
1)Traveling;
2) Do part-time work or engage in other business activities unrelated to the teaching of the college;
3) Other situations in which the teaching institute and the International Cooperation Office believe that it should not be approved.
Article 11 Foreign teachers may violate the above provisions on substitutes, classes or leave, and the International Cooperation Office of the college may issue a written warning to the foreign teacher and deduct the corresponding class fee according to the contract signed by the foreign teacher and the college.
Article 12 Foreign teachers are late or leave early without reason more than twice, International Cooperation Office shall submit written warnings to the foreign teachers and filing.
Written warnings are not included for the following reasons:
(1) Force majeure: Foreign teachers can not attend classes on time because of such as fire, traffic accidents, robbery, etc.; But foreign teachers have an obligation to prove these reasons;
(2)Foreign teachers are late for class due to objective reasons;
(3) Foreign teachers are required to teach classes or schools to postpone classes or leave classes in advance.
3. Accommodation Specifications
Article 13 Unless specified in the contract, the foreign teacher shall be in the apartment designated by the college.

When foreign teachers check in, they should check the electrical appliances, furniture and other items allocated by the college, and sign the list to ensure that these items are properly kept; when leaving, the International Cooperation Office should be notified to handle the inventory and handover of electrical appliances, furniture and other items. The housing provided by the college, as a dormitory for foreign teachers during their teaching, foreign teachers may not be used for other purposes, nor for illegal purposes, and may not engage in activities such as missionary, gambling, pornography, gathering and drinking. In order to protect the safety of foreign teachers and ensure the rest time of foreign teachers, after 11 pm, foreign teachers should not stay outside; if foreign teachers visit relatives and friends, they really need to spend the night in foreign teachers' houses. The college should be informed and approved in advance.Foreign teachers may not allow a single student of the opposite sex to visit their residence, and may not allow students to stay overnight in the room; in order to ensure the normal rest of the foreign teachers, students may not visit foreign teachers after 11pm.
4. Religious Activity Norms
Article 14 Foreign teachers have freedom of religious belief in China. The school does not interfere in religious exchanges and cultural and academic exchanges with the Chinese religious circles. However, all foreign teachers are strictly forbidden from preaching.
Article 15 Foreign teachers may hold religious activities attended by foreigners at places recognized by the religious affairs department of the people's government at or above the county level.
Article 16 Foreign teachers may carry religious prints, religious audio-visual products and other religious articles for their own use; carry religious prints, religious audio-visual products and other religious items that exceed their own use, and go through the relevant provisions of the Chinese Customs. It is forbidden to bring religious prints and religious audio-visual products that are harmful to the public interest of Chinese society.
Article 17 Foreign teachers who engage in religious activities in China shall abide by Chinese laws and regulations, may not establish religious organizations in China, establish religious offices, set up religious venues or set up religious institutions, and may not develop Christians among Chinese citizens. , appoint religious staff and conduct other missionary activities.
5.Responsibility for violation of these Regulations
Article 18 If a foreign teacher is warned three or more times in violation of the provisions of these Regulations during the semester, the school may expel the foreign teacher.
Article 19 For foreign teachers who are in serious violation of the provisions of these Regulations, the school may be expelled without written warning.
Article 20 The foreign teachers who are expelled shall not provide the airfare and holiday subsidies for the semester.
Article 21 The school reserves the right to notify the relevant government agencies and relevant units of foreign teachers who commit serious violations of this Regulation or are expelled.
