Report on the visit of Wang Wei and his party of Henan Agricultural University to Japan

At the invitation of Professor Mikio nakazono of Nagoya University, Professor Wang Wei visited Nagoya University for academic exchange from September 12 to 16, 2019. The itinerary of the visit was strictly in accordance with the visit plan approved by the Foreign Affairs Office of Henan Province. Through careful organization and careful arrangement, the visit was successfully completed. The visit is summarized as follows:

1. Actual date of visit

Wang Wei started from Zhengzhou to Beijing on the morning of September 12, 2019 by high-speed rail. Leave Beijing Capital Airport at 15:50 PM, take China Eastern Airlines flight mu743 and arrive at Nagoya Central Airport at 19:50. Professor Zhongyuan gansheng arrived at Nagoya in the middle of the night and stayed at the ryne parist Nagoya Hotel (3-4-4, neishan, Qianzhong District, Nagoya City).

2. Basic information of the visit

On the morning of September 13, Wang Wei gave a special report "making a drought tolerance make constant and exploring its drought tolerance mechanism" for Professor gansheng's Laboratory of Zhongyuan, introducing the research progress of the laboratory in recent years; Professor Zhongyuan gansheng introduced the latest research paper published in PNAS (Journal of the American Academy of Sciences) on the molecular mechanism of auxin signaling controlling lateral root development in Rice under anaerobic conditions; In the afternoon, I visited Professor Nakayama's laboratory, the Department of agriculture of Nagoya University, as well as the open-air experimental site and solar greenhouse.

On the morning of September 14, the two sides discussed the application for international cooperation projects of NSFC in 2021, and reached a consensus. The two sides believe that: in the past five years, the two sides have had close scientific research cooperation and personnel exchanges. On the basis of the previous cooperation published in the Journal of Experimental Botany (Journal of Experimental Botany) on "maize improves waterlogging tolerance through the formation of inducible ventilating tissue", the hope of successfully applying for the "key international cooperation project of NSFC" is very great, The next paper should be published as soon as possible; Professor Zhongyuan gansheng hopes to continue to send excellent postgraduates to carry out cooperative research in his laboratory.

On the morning of September 14, we discussed the data analysis of the next paper "proteomic basis of the formation of maize adventitious root aerenchyma by laser cutting technology" with Professor Zhongyuan gansheng, Dr. Takahashi and others, which was mainly completed by Professor Wang Wei's doctoral student Gong Fangping in Nagoya University; The division of writing, completion time and SCI journals are discussed; The paper is mainly analyzed and written by Professor Wang Wei's laboratory. Professor Zhongyuan gansheng will revise the paper together during his visit to Henan Agricultural University in February 2020; In the afternoon, I watched the experiment of doctor Ning Jiayang operating laser cutting instrument to accurately obtain plant micro tissue and single cell.

On the morning of September 15, Mr. Nakayama visited the experimental farm and transgenic field outside Nagoya University; The experimental field has a good foundation, intelligent management, especially the closed management of transgenic crop plots, to avoid transgenic spillover; In the afternoon, I visited the memorial hall of Nobel laureates of Nagoya University. So far, four people from Nagoya University have won the Nobel Prize; Among them is marine biologist Xiacun Xiu, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for discovering green fluorescent protein (GFP), an indispensable tool for life science research, from jellyfish. The achievement was accomplished persistently under simple conditions and relay by three generations of scientists. This scientific spirit is deeply inspired.

On the morning of September 16, Professor Zhongyuan saw him off to Nagoya Central Airport, took China Eastern Airlines mu744 (09:00), and arrived at Beijing Capital Airport at noon; In the afternoon, Beijing west railway station returns to Zhengzhou.

3. Main achievements and gains

Through this visit, we have reached an agreement on applying for international cooperation projects of NSFC, so as to deepen the scientific research and personnel training of both sides; The latest research results of Professor Zhongyuan gansheng are used for reference to further and expand the research of maize stress tolerance; We have learned the advanced and humanized laboratory management means and methods of Japanese laboratory, and reached a plan for scientific research cooperation and joint training of postgraduates; It is of great significance to deepen cooperative research.

4. Matters to be followed up in the later stage

In the later stage, the following issues need to be followed up and implemented: Professor Yuan gansheng will visit in the middle of February 2020 and discuss the revision of the cooperation paper, so it is necessary to speed up the data analysis and writing of the paper; We will promote and actively prepare the applications for the key international cooperation projects of NSFC in 2020; Excellent postgraduates are selected to carry out cooperative research in their laboratories.

5. The actual implementation of the contents publicized before the visit announced by the unit

According to the requirements of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the mission of this visit is consistent with the announcement made by Henan Agricultural University from September 2 to 7, 2019.
